Start with Why...

... says Simon Sinek.

And I would like to start here with my why...
Why am I so happy to take photos aspiring to define myself a photographer?

It's a matter of moments, those moments when I can be focused on what's outside there, outside on the streets. Those moments when I stay in peace with myself, framing a scene, deciding the best composition and light for that moment.

It's a matter of solitude, moments when I'm alone (in a crowd), carefree, very far from my daily job and from my commitments. It's when I feel free, free to freeze a moment I see that is capturing my eyes, my brain and my heart.

It recharges me, it gives me energy, gratitude (isn't that great when you understand you took a great photo?), it gives me calm... I think it's a therapy against the stress.

Walking in a crowded place, full of people, at sunset, waiting for something that I feel is going to happen and all of sudden a dog starts jumping in the middle of the fountain...

It's The Decisive Moment and it's for ever... a moment that lasts forever.

So... that's why I like to take photos: because I can freeze the present and collect images for the future.
